Gold Coast Animal Hospital patients come in almost every size. From Great Danes to hamsters and furry tarantulas to tortoises, we care for all your animals, great and small. We are proud to serve the following types of animals:
- Exotic Animals (including reptiles, potbellied pigs and large spiders)
- Pocket Pets (such as hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils and more)
Complete medical services, complete convenience. Unlike many veterinary practices, we keep our broad range of services under one roof. We rarely refer you to a specialist because we can care for almost any condition your pet might have.
We model our animal care after human care – our patients benefit from human-grade technology and surgical equipment so that every procedure is as comfortable, painless and advanced as possible. Our veterinarians have nearly 100 years of combined experience caring for dozens of species. We have a dedicated surgery technician on staff and a board certified radiologist.
Quite simply, there’s no better place to bring your pet for total health care.
Our animal clinic offers the following:
Intermittent vomiting, bladder stones, thyroid conditions…pets get sick just like people. State-of-the-art diagnostic services get to the bottom of what’s going on so your pet can get well and live more comfortably, well into their old age.

Education and Counseling
Live in harmony with your animal companions. Our experienced veterinarians and staff can help you choose a pet that fits your lifestyle. Behavioral counseling services help you train them to live happily alongside you and every member of your household. We are proud to offer many resources to ensure you and your pet are the perfect match.
We also consider community education to be a part of our mission. We offer animal hospital tours and school talks for students at the pre-school, elementary or high school level.
Grooming, Boarding and Well-being
Good hygiene begins with good grooming. We care for your pet’s fur, trim nails, brush teeth and offer protective treatments against fleas and ticks.
Going on vacation? Give your pet a vacation, too. Gold Coast Animal Hospital has the largest dog runs in Chicago. Your pup can even go swimming for exercise or enjoyment in our pool (also the largest in the city!)
Your pet’s most basic well-being is being with you! Should your pet ever go missing, AVID microchipping can help identify and bring you back together. A quick injection, similar to a vaccination, places the microchip between your pet’s shoulder blades. Your pet is then entered into a pet recovery database, making it easier to reunite if your pet ever gets lost.
At Gold Coast Animal Hospital, we’re passionate about veterinary service because we love pets and their people. Contact us to schedule an appointment or learn more about how we can protect and maintain your pet’s health today!
